The tools are placed in a transfer basket after being removed
from the compression machine tower. The
same transfer basket will be placed into the washer and after the cleaning process stored in a dedicated
area.

cGMP washers from some manufacturer are already known to be used for such
applications.
Such washers are very expensive and often exceed the customer’s budget by far.
With this in mind Borer Chemie AG
and Steelco S.r.l. developed a process
to clean these tools in a laboratory grade washer.
A Steelco Laboratory Glassware Washer LAB500C washer is loaded
on two levels with compression tool transfer baskets.

Conclusion:
The developed cycle
cleans, protects and
dries the compression tool to the
customers requirement in a very economically and reproducible way. Because of
the use of SS transfer baskets the
handling of the tools could be reduced to a minimum.
The chemicals used for this process are:
deconex CIP power-x for the
thorough cleaning
deconex HT1191 as corrosion protection agent

Remark
Even though lab washers are not built according to cGMP
requirements, but offer an extremely cost attractive alternative. Compared to
manual cleaning of such tools it is a huge step towards product quality,
reproducibility and documented procedures.

these washers are used normally to provide
analytically pure laboratory glassware the basic principles of sanitary design
are fulfilled.
